Senior Java Developer | Early Stage Startup | $160k + Super

Pearson Carter are working with a very exciting Startup who have built a flagship SaaS product that is helping business across a wide range of industries. They also offer tailored solutions for their clients, and are going from strength to strength.

Responsibilities

n

n
- Partner closely with the Principal Engineer to deliver features from initial design to production deployment
n
- Lead the development of reliable and high-performance backend systems, with a strong emphasis on scalability and stability
n
- Support DevOps efforts, including infrastructure provisioning and maintenance using AWS and Terraform
n
- Design and build robust integrations with third-party systems, such as financial platforms, IoT devices, and hardware interfaces
n
- Work collaboratively with Product Managers and UX Designers to ensure solutions are scalable, practical, and user-focused
n
- Develop and optimize API endpoints and data processing flows across the platform
n




- Create clear technical documentation and contribute to ongoing internal knowledge sharing
n

Requirements

n

n
- 5+ years of experience as a Backend Developer, preferably in SaaS or complex integration environments
n
- Solid proficiency in Java (preferably Java 24) with a solid grasp of functional programming principles
n
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services such as S3 and Lambda
n
- Experience with infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform
n
- Skilled in working with relational databases, including SQL and CRUD operations
n
- Strong knowledge of Spring Security and security best practices for backend systems
n
- Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining API-centric architectures
n
