Parental Leave Position to May 2027 | Part Time (5 days per fortnight)

Mount Annan Christian College is seeking an appropriately qualified and experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a part time parental leave contract through to May 2027. The successful applicant will demonstrate a genuine commitment to their Christian faith, through regular attendance and active involvement in their local Church.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the College's fortnightly payroll and salary packaging arrangements.
n
Key responsibilities:
n
- Management of the end-to-end fortnightly payroll through Xero and salary packaging processing through Southgate
n
- Processing timesheets and payroll forms in a timely manner
n
- Maintain accurate payroll records including salary packaging, allowances, increment increases, commencements, terminations, leave entitlements and other relevant information
n
- Balancing and reconciling fortnightly payroll outputs each fortnight
n
- Interpreting and applying the terms and conditions in the Independent Schools NSW Teachers (Hybrid) and (Support and Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreements 2021 and relevant payroll policies and procedures
n
- Providing superannuation administration to ensure payroll processes are compliant with relevant legislation
n
- Processing PAYG monthly and statutory payments and process payroll end of month procedures, including data entry of journal entries
n
- Generating payroll reports as required by management
n
General:
n
- Interacting with staff at all levels of the College in a timely manner to resolve pay issues
n
- Assist the Finance Manager and senior leaders with ad hoc projects, reporting and administrative activities as required.
n
Our ideal candidate will have:
n
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a payroll-related role.
n
- Experience processing high-volume payrolls.
n
- Sound understanding of payroll legislation, regulations and compliance requirements.
n
- Demonstrated experience interpreting Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) or Industrial Awards.
n
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
n
- A proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
n
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
n
Desirable
n
- Previous experience within a school environment
n
- Experience using Xero payroll
n
- Current First Aid certificate
n
Essential Requirements:
n
- A current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
n
- A demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith, evidenced through regular church attendance and involvement.
