Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.

n

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

n

We currently have an opportunity for a Project Support Officer in Adelaide to work on Defence Naval Sustainment project.

n

What You'll Do

n

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

n

n
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and work breakdown structures to support delivery milestones.
n
- Coordinate workforce planning and task tracking, resolving delivery blockers to keep projects on track.
n
- Support governance reporting through weekly status updates, financial tracking, and milestone progress.
n
- Maintain and monitor project registers (risks, issues, actions), contributing to risk mitigation planning and resolution.
n
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination and stakeholder engagement to ensure effective communication and alignment.
n

What You'll Bring

n

n
- Proven ability to manage detailed project schedules, resource plans, and reporting tools to support milestone delivery.
n
- Strong coordination skills across workforce planning, task tracking, and issue resolution in dynamic environments.
n
- Experience maintaining project registers and supporting risk mitigation strategies to ensure delivery continuity.
n
- Effective stakeholder engagement and communication across internal teams and external partners.
n
- Familiarity with Defence or infrastructure programs, with proficiency in MS Project, Excel,



and governance reporting.
n

n

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.

n
