East Malvern RSL is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager Operations to oversee the day-to-day management of the Club and work closely with the Committee to deliver operational excellence, improved strong and sustainable financial performance and an enjoyable member experience.

n

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced manager who thrives in hospitality, clubs, entertainment or community-based organisations.

n

About the Role

n

Reporting directly to the Committee, you will be responsible for the overall operational performance of the Club, including:

n

Managing daily venue operations including interfacing closely with any food and beverage provider engaged by the Club

n

Working closely with Club volunteers

n

Overseeing delivery of exceptional service standards for Members and guests

n

Managing Club budgets, reporting and financial performance

n

Driving revenue growth through the Club's membership growth and increased engagement with local organisations, community groups and stakeholders and assisting the Clubs food & beverage provider in a manner consistent with Club and RSL rules and ethos

n

Identifying both directly and through volunteers, securing and managing grant funding opportunities to improve Club operations, facilities, infrastructure and veteran welfare initiatives

n

Developing, delivering and reporting on programs that support the welfare and wellbeing of current and former service personnel, including securing funding,



partnerships and revenue streams to maximise member benefits

n

Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations

n

Maintaining workplace health and safety standards

n

Building strong relationships with members, veterans, suppliers, ex-service organisations and community stakeholders

n

Supporting strategic initiatives and Club development opportunities

n

About You

n

You are a confident, observant and capable leader with strong operational and commercial experience. You enjoy working with people, creating positive experiences for members and guests and are interested in helping making a positive difference to the welfare of community members needy of assistance.

n

You will bring:

n

Previous experience in a senior management role within hospitality, clubs and entertainment or a related industry

n

Strong leadership and people management skills

n

Demonstrated financial management and budgeting experience

n

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

n

An observant, proactive, can-do, solutions-focused approach

n

Robust organisational and time management skills

n

Experience working directly with Boards or Committees and associated governance structures will be highly regarded

n





Current Victorian RSA

n

Sound understanding of compliance requirements within a liquor licensed venue

n
