The role

As a Senior Accountant with The Enterprise Edge, you will take full responsibility for a portfolio of business and individual clients, managing the relationship directly rather than working behind a manager. You'll have the autonomy to make decisions and exercise your professional judgement across your own files, managing your portfolio across:

- Accounting and financial statements
- Tax and BAS/IAS
- Bookkeeping
- Payroll
- Client support

About you

We are looking for a CA or CPA qualified accountant with a minimum of 5+ years experience who is ready to take full ownership of a client portfolio and wants the autonomy and flexibility to do their best work.

Ideally, you will have:

- CA or CPA qualification
- At least five years' experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm, including preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Working knowledge of Division 7A, fringe benefits tax, capital gains tax and GST as they apply to small and medium business clients
- Experience with Xero, ideally including Xero Practice Manager, or a comparable platform
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to clients in plain English
- Excellent attention to detail, sound organisation and the capacity to work autonomously across a client portfolio within a small remote team




- Experience reviewing work prepared by junior or offshore staff is highly regarded An interest in technology and the future of the accounting profession would also be highly regarded, particularly given the opportunity to be involved with AccNav.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Advising on Division 7A, fringe benefits tax, capital gains tax and year-end tax planning
- Conducting technical research and preparing written advice on client-specific matters
- Preparing Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements
- Processing payroll, including Single Touch Payroll and superannuation obligations
- Setting up, converting and reviewing Xero files
- Acting as the first point of contact for your own portfolio of clients
- Liaising with the ATO on correspondence, payment arrangements and lodgement deferrals
- Onboarding new clients, including customer due diligence under our AML/CTF program
- Managing ASIC compliance, company and trust establishments and Director ID matters
- Monitoring the lodgement program and managing workflow in Xero Practice Manager
- Reviewing work prepared by our offshore team
- Providing accounting and tax advice and supporting clients with their broader business needs
