About the Company The Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) is a Commonwealth Government financier, providing financial support to advance the development of infrastructure projects in northern Australia and the Indian Ocean Territories. We help grow economies and populations and encourage private sector investment across a range of sectors including resources, agriculture and water, energy, financing partnerships, social infrastructure, and transport and logistics. We support projects that deliver public benefit to the north, through new jobs, regional income, business for local suppliers and Indigenous outcomes across northern Australia.
NAIF has a $7 billion allocation of funds and has committed over $4.5 billion to support 35 projects in Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
About the Role
This 12-month fixed term contract role will help coordinate a portfolio of ICT and business improvement projects that strengthen how NAIF works, delivers services and uses technology. This is a hands-on delivery role suited to someone who is organised, practical and confident working across both business and technology stakeholders. The successful candidate will help keep projects moving, maintain clear documentation, support vendor coordination and provide the structure needed for timely decisions and successful adoption.
Location
NAIF has a strong preference to recruit employees based in Northern Australia, reflecting our purpose and the communities we serve. This role is ideally located in Cairns, however we will consider applicants from other locations where this supports securing the best candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of digital transformation and improvement initiatives.
- Coordinating project activities, workshops, documentation, risks, issues and progress reporting.
- Working with internal teams, executives and vendors to support delivery of agreed outcomes.
- Supporting vendor coordination, onboarding, delivery tracking and compliance.
- Assisting with procurement activities, including tender documentation, vendor evaluation and contract support.
- Maintaining project artefacts, including business cases, implementation plans, risk registers, decision records and status updates.
- Supporting communication, training and adoption activities for new systems and processes.
- Helping ensure project delivery aligns with NAIF’s IT governance, security, risk and compliance requirements.
About You
- Experience supporting or coordinating projects in a business or technology environment.
- Strong organisational skills, ability to track actions, decisions, risks and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
- Ability to work with internal teams, vendors and delivery partners.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to support risk, issue, action and decision tracking.
- Sound judgement, attention to detail and a practical delivery mindset.
- Experience in Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Dynamics 365 or Power Platform environments.
- Experience with project tools such as Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Project management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP or similar.
