About The Role

Help lead the engineering team behind Australia's most iconic airborne healthcare service. RFDS South Eastern Section is seeking an experienced Senior Base Engineer to lead engineering operations at its Dubbo base, ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of the RFDS fleet supporting critical aeromedical missions across the region.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise a team of Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers at the base
- Ensure aircraft maintenance is carried out in accordance with regulatory and manufacturer requirements
- Manage base engineering resources, scheduling and workflow to support 24/7 operational availability
- Oversee maintenance planning, defect rectification and compliance documentation




- Liaise with the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation and other engineering leadership
- Mentor and develop engineering staff, promoting a strong safety culture
- Ensure compliance with CASA regulations and RFDS engineering procedures

Essential Requirements

- CASA Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence (B1/B2 or equivalent)
- Significant experience in aircraft maintenance, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of CASA regulations and airworthiness requirements
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Ability to work within a 24/7 operational aeromedical setting
