Senior Compute & Storage Architecture – Enterprise Infrastructure Transformation (Australia)
Location: Australia (Sydney)
Function: Technology Consulting / Infrastructure Services & Data Centre Transformation
Level: Senior Manager (Consulting) (Client-Embedded / Transformation Leadership)
Additional requirement: Australian Baseline Security Clearance (Mandatory)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Compute & Storage Architect to lead the design, governance and transformation of enterprise infrastructure platforms for large-scale Australian organisations. This is a senior client-facing architecture leadership role within a Wipro-led transformation engagement, accountable for delivering secure, resilient and scalable compute, storage and virtualisation outcomes across complex enterprise and mission-critical environments.
You will own architecture and transformation outcomes across compute, storage, virtualisation and infrastructure management domains, ensuring technology platforms support business continuity, operational resilience, cyber security objectives and future business growth.
Success in this role is measured through business outcomes such as availability, risk reduction, service resilience, transformation readiness and operational efficiency. Technical infrastructure metrics are treated as leading indicators that protect these business outcomes, rather than outcomes in themselves.
Scope of services includes enterprise compute platforms, storage platforms, SAN and NAS environments, virtualisation platforms, backup and recovery solutions, infrastructure monitoring, management integrations and data centre transformation initiatives. The role combines architecture leadership, technical governance and transformation delivery across both traditional data centre and hybrid cloud environments.
Operate effectively in complex multi-vendor environments, integrating engineering teams, project stakeholders and technology partners through clear architecture governance, delivery oversight and outcome-based decision making.
Authority model: This role holds delegated authority to establish infrastructure architecture standards, approve solution direction, govern technical debt remediation, prioritise architecture improvement roadmaps and drive cross-functional resolution of risks impacting transformation outcomes.
What You Will Do
1) Own infrastructure architecture outcomes
- Own end-to-end architecture outcomes across compute, storage and virtualisation platforms supporting business-critical services and applications.
- Define technology roadmaps that improve resilience, scalability, recoverability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure infrastructure platforms align with enterprise architecture principles, security requirements and future business demand.
- Establish transparent ownership,
governance and decision-making frameworks across architecture and delivery teams.
2) Lead compute, storage and virtualisation transformation
- Lead architecture and design activities across enterprise compute, storage, SAN, NAS and virtualisation environments.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, secure and supportable infrastructure solutions.
- Oversee platform modernisation, technology refresh and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
- Provide architecture leadership during design, migration, testing, deployment and transition activities.
- Drive simplification, automation and standardisation across infrastructure estates.
3) Enable resilience, recoverability and operational continuity
- Define infrastructure strategies that support high availability, disaster recovery and business continuity objectives.
- Govern backup, replication and recovery architectures to minimise operational risk.
- Ensure infrastructure designs can support critical business applications and operational workloads.
- Drive proactive identification and remediation of infrastructure risks, constraints and technical debt.
4) Govern enterprise infrastructure platforms
- Establish architecture standards covering compute, storage, virtualisation and platform management technologies.
- Govern integration with monitoring, event management, automation, backup and ITSM platforms.
- Lead technical reviews, design assurance and architecture governance forums.
- Ensure infrastructure platforms remain supportable, performant and operationally efficient throughout their lifecycle.
5) Lead complex migration and modernisation programs
- Lead infrastructure migration programs including data centre transformation, platform refreshes and workload migrations.
- Translate migration risks and dependencies into business-focused remediation strategies.
- Coordinate architecture decisions across operations, cloud, security, application and project delivery teams.
- Ensure transformation initiatives deliver measurable outcomes while maintaining operational stability.
Australia-Specific Priorities
- Enterprise infrastructure supporting critical business applications and operational services.
- Secure, highly available infrastructure platforms aligned with organisational cyber and regulatory requirements.
- Zero tolerance for architecture decisions that compromise service resilience, recoverability or business continuity.
- Infrastructure designed to support hybrid cloud adoption while protecting operational stability and governance obligations.

Why Join Wipro For many experienced infrastructure architects today, the reality is increasing separation between architecture decisions and business outcomes. Architecture becomes documentation-heavy, delivery ownership is fragmented, and opportunities to influence strategic outcomes diminish.
Wipro in ANZ offers a different model.
Here, architecture leaders are trusted to define technology direction, influence executive stakeholders and remain accountable for transformation outcomes. You will operate close to clients, work across strategy and execution, and have the opportunity to shape highly visible infrastructure modernisation initiatives that directly impact operational performance, resilience and business growth.
Unlike traditional environments where architecture, delivery and operations operate in silos, Wipro combines consulting, engineering and managed services into a single integrated model. This allows infrastructure leaders to move beyond technical design and become true business and transformation partners.
What Success Looks Like
- Compute, storage and virtualisation platforms delivering measurable improvements in resilience, scalability and operational efficiency.
- Successful execution of transformation and migration initiatives with minimal business disruption.
- Infrastructure risk reduced through proactive architecture governance and modernisation.
- Executive confidence in platform resilience, recoverability and long-term technology direction.
- Standards-driven infrastructure environments that enable faster delivery, lower operational complexity and improved business outcomes.
