As a recruiter partnering with this business, we’re excited to present an opportunity for an experienced Structural Steel Detailer with strong Tekla Structures expertise to join their Sunshine Coast–based team.
This is a fantastic chance to step into a role where you’ll work on diverse, technically challenging projects within a collaborative and supportive environment . You’ll be a key contributor, using your expertise to deliver precise drawings and documentation while working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams.
The Role
- Produce detailed fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures
- Interpret architectural and structural documentation with accuracy
- Manage multiple residential and commercial drafting projects end-to-end
- Generate NC data, shop drawings, and fabrication reports
- Maintain drawing registers and ensure compliance with standards
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to resolve queries
- Attend project meetings and site visits as required
- Mentor and support junior drafters when needed
About You
- Demonstrated experience in structural steel detailing (residential and commercial)
- Solid proficiency in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD
- Ability to confidently interpret engineering and architectural drawings
- High attention to detail and problem-solving capability
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
- Current Driver’s Licence and White Card (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable Experience
- Background in steel fabrication across varied project types
- Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications
- Experience within the residential construction sector
