Senior Electrical Engineer - Tier 1 MEP Contractor Location: Melbourne, VIC

Salary: $155,000 - $180,000 + Super

Sector: MEP / Building Services / Data Centres The Opportunity We are representing a leading Tier 1 MEP contractor delivering major mechanical and electrical projects across Melbourne.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their project delivery team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer to work on technically complex projects, taking ownership of electrical packages while working closely with project managers, construction teams, consultants and subcontractors.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the technical delivery of major MEP projects, ensuring electrical works are coordinated, technically compliant and delivered to the required quality, programme and commercial standards.

You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from design coordination and procurement through to installation, testing and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the technical delivery of electrical packages across major construction projects.
- Review electrical designs, specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
- Coordinate electrical services with mechanical, architectural, structural and other disciplines.
- Work closely with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams.
- Identify and resolve technical, design and constructability issues.
- Review shop drawings, technical submissions,



RFIs and design changes.
- Support procurement and subcontractor management for electrical packages.
- Monitor installation against approved designs, specifications and project requirements.
- Assist with project programming, sequencing and technical planning.
- Support testing, commissioning and handover activities.
- Ensure works comply with relevant Australian Standards, codes and project specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and project team members.
- Attend design, coordination, construction and client meetings.
- Assist the Project Manager and wider project team with technical and commercial decision-making.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure engineering deliverables are completed on schedule.

About You The successful candidate will ideally have:

- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong experience working within MEP, building services or construction environments.
- Proven experience delivering electrical packages on medium to large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical building services and construction methodologies.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical design, coordination and installation.
- Experience working with consultants,



subcontractors and Tier 1 contractors.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and relevant electrical codes.
- Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a wider project team.
- Strong commercial and problem-solving awareness.
