About the Centre
n
SPLASH is the premier Indoor Pool and Stadium facility in South Gippsland.Owned by South Gippsland Shire Council and managed by the Y, it boasts a 25m, 8 lane pool, a Leisure Pool, Toddler Pool and a two-court basketball stadium.It is located in the heart of Leongatha's Sporting precinct, adjacent to the Leongatha Recreation Oval, Woorayl Golf Course, and Leongatha Tennis Club.

About the Role
n
As a Lifeguard at South Gippsland SPLASH, you'll help provide a safe swimming environment for all centre visitors. You'll be patient, focused and friendly to keep pool-users informed and safe. Duties of the role include:
n
n
- Supervising a large aquatic space while pro-actively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool area
n
- Maintaining concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problems
n
- Ensuring facility rules are being obeyed whilst at the same time educating facility users about safe aquatic practices
n
- Carrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility and equipment
n
n
This is a casual position and the hourly rate is up to $34.96 + Super.
n
About you
n
We are seeking motivated, organised and pro-active Lifeguards to come and join the team. The ideal candidate will have solid interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and all facility users. Other required qualities are:
n
n
- Ability to make decisions while under pressure
n
- Being able to manage conflicts with patrons and users
n
- Ability to stay alert and vigilant in a repetitive work environment
n
- Ability to multitask
n
- Providing excellent customer service for all members and guests
n
- Experience in the Aquatics and Leisure industry will be highly regarded
n
n
Essential Qualifications
n
n
- Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
n
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
n
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
n
n
