We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Engineer to join a high-performing infrastructure team supporting the design, build and deployment of Azure-based enterprise systems.

n

This role sits within a systems-focused environment undergoing a significant uplift, where core platforms are being modernised and replaced with modular, cloud-native solutions leveraging existing Azure services. You'll play a key role in supporting project delivery and building resilient, secure, and maintainable infrastructure that underpins critical national operations.

n

This is a hands-on, senior technical role with end-to-end ownership across packages of work, combined with the opportunity to guide junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.

n

Please note: An active Baseline security clearance is required prior to commencement.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Design, develop, implement and test Azure-based infrastructure solutions aligned to business requirements and engineering standards
n
- Provide systems expertise to enhance and improve existing solutions across a complex enterprise environment
n
- Work collaboratively across teams to investigate and resolve complex infrastructure and Infrastructure-as-Code issues
n
- Own end-to-end delivery, ensuring reliability,



security and maintainability of solutions
n
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
n
- Produce high-quality technical and design documentation and ensure delivery milestones are met
n
- Contribute to on-call support arrangements for enterprise infrastructure
n
- Perform additional duties as required to support operational outcomes
n

Essential Experience and Skills

n

n
- Demonstrated experience implementing enterprise IT solutions using Azure services, including:n n
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
n
- Storage (Blob and File)
n
- Integration services (Service Bus, Event Hub)
n
- API Management (APIM)
n
- Key Vault
n

n
- Robust experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using ARM and/or Bicep templates
n
- Proven experience managing and migrating infrastructure solutions to Azure
n
- Solid understanding of risk management principles within infrastructure environments
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective working relationships and influence outcomes
n
- Relevant IT qualifications and cloud certifications
n
- Experience with Git version control and branching strategies
n
- Knowledge of Australian cyber security frameworks
n
- Familiarity with IT frameworks such as ITIL and TOGAF
n
- Understanding of Commonwealth ICT frameworks
n
