Salary: $412,161 – $523,436 p.a. (Consultant Years 1–9)

An outstanding opportunity is available for a Consultant Anaesthetist (FANZCA) to join a major regional health service in coastal Western Australia. The Role

n

As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will play a key leadership role in delivering safe, high‐quality perioperative and emergency anaesthetic care across a broad and diverse caseload.

n

Your Scope Of Practice Will Include

n

n
- Pre‐operative assessment and perioperative management
n
- General and regional anaesthesia (spinal, epidural, nerve blocks)
n
- Complex airway management
n
- Acute and post‐operative pain management
n
- Obstetric anaesthesia, including epidurals and emergency caesarean sections
n
- Trauma response and hospital‐wide resuscitation
n

You Will Work Within a Cooperative Blended Medical Model, Alongside Specialist Anaesthetists, Rural Generalist Anaesthetists, Registrars, RMOs And Interns, And Contribute To

n

n
- Clinical governance and quality improvement
n
- Teaching, supervision and mentoring of junior medical staff
n
- Ongoing service development within a growing regional centre
n

The Health Service

The hospital is a regional referral centre providing 24/7 emergency care to a large catchment area and supporting surrounding hospitals and nursing posts via telehealth services.

A Major Infrastructure Redevelopment Is Currently Underway, Including

n

n
- Expansion of the Emergency Department
n
- A new Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
n
- High Dependency Unit (HDU)
n




- Mental Health Inpatient Unit
n

This redevelopment presents a unique opportunity for anaesthetists to contribute to the growth of high‐acuity regional services. Dual‐qualified Anaesthetist/Intensivists will have the opportunity to help shape the future of regional critical care.

Salary & Benefits

Total remuneration: $412,161 – $523,436 p.a. (pro rata)

n

(Inclusive of base salary, 12% employer superannuation, and professional development allowance)

About You

You will have:

- Fellowship of ANZCA (FANZCA) or equivalent
n
- Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
n
- Substantial postgraduate experience in hospital‐based anaesthesia
n
- A collaborative, adaptable approach suited to regional practice
n

n

Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs) are welcome to apply. Please note that while the primary site cannot provide initial supervision, successful SIMGs must be willing to complete a supervised placement at another regional site before transitioning into this role.
