The Team You'll Be Joining The Finance team supports EML's global payments operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, strong financial controls, and adherence to accounting standards. The team partners closely with Commercial, Operations, Treasury, FP&A;, Legal, and Client Success to support growth while maintaining financial discipline.

Working across both Australia and North America, the role will be responsible for key financial control activities including balance sheet governance, cash flow reporting, treasury support, banking administration, and intercompany accounting.

The Role The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of EML's balance sheet, supporting treasury and banking activities, managing intercompany accounting processes, and delivering high-quality financial control outcomes across Australia and North America. The role plays a critical role in ensuring financial information is complete, accurate, and appropriately supported. The position will take ownership of several controllership functions currently performed by the Financial Controller, helping build a scalable and sustainable finance operating model across both regions.

Key Responsibilities

Balance Sheet Reconciliations & Financial Control

- Own the preparation, review, and governance of assigned balance sheet reconciliations across Australia and North America.
- Ensure reconciliations are completed accurately, supported by appropriate evidence, and reviewed in accordance with Financial Control standards.
- Monitor balance sheet integrity and identify emerging risks or control issues.
- Support implementation of best-practice reconciliation and substantiation processes.
- Partner with business stakeholders to resolve issues impacting balance sheet accuracy.

Cash Flow Reporting &Treasury; Support

- Help Prepare and maintain short-term and medium-term cash flow reporting across Australia and North America.
- Monitor actual cash movements against forecast and provide commentary on key variances.
- Support daily treasury activities including cash visibility, liquidity monitoring, and funding requirements.




- Work closely with FP&A; and Treasury stakeholders to improve forecast accuracy and reporting consistency.

Intercompany Accounting

- Own and manage intercompany accounting processes across Australia, North America, and other group entities.
- Prepare and review intercompany journals, invoices, allocations, and settlements.
- Ensure intercompany balances are reconciled monthly and differences are resolved on a timely basis.
- Coordinate with finance teams across regions to support accurate and consistent intercompany accounting.
- Drive improvements in intercompany governance, documentation, and reporting processes.
- Support transfer pricing and related documentation requirements where applicable.

Banking Activities & Controls

- Support administration and oversight of banking activities across Australia and North America.
- Maintain banking authorities, user access reviews, and banking control documentation.
- Assist with payment governance and approval processes.
- Support internal and external audits relating to cash management and banking controls.

Financial Controller Support

- Assume ownership of selected financial control responsibilities currently performed by the Financial Controller.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Review journals, reconciliations, and key accounting deliverables prepared by team members.
- Assist in coordinating audit deliverables and finance control activities.
- Support financial governance initiatives and control enhancement programs.
- Provide coaching and support to junior team members where required.
- Act as a delegate for the Financial Controller on operational finance matters when required.

Continuous Improvement & Projects

- Identify opportunities to improve controls, efficiency, and automation across financial processes.
- Support transition of North American finance activities into the Australian Financial Control team.




- Drive improvements to month-end close, balance sheet review, treasury reporting, and intercompany processes.
- Support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements.

Skills & Experience

- 5+ years' experience in Commercial Accounting, Audit, Treasury Accounting, or a similar role.
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Demonstrated experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes.
- Strong understanding of cash flow reporting and treasury concepts.
- Strong understanding of financial controls and accounting governance.
- Experience supporting audit processes and responding to auditor requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with NetSuite, BlackLine, or similar finance systems highly regarded.
- Experience within financial services, fintech, or regulated environments highly regarded.

Experience and Education Level

- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualification required(or near completion).
