About Nectar Brands
Nectar Brands is a growing healthcare group at the forefront of digital health and alternative medicine in Australia. Recognised as Australia’s #8 fastest-growing startups in 2023 by The Australian Financial Review, our portfolio spans digital healthcare and therapeutics, with ongoing expansion. We’re pioneering and defining what high-quality digital healthcare and alternative therapeutics can look and feel like for Australian patients, building trusted brands that make better healthcare more accessible.
About The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Health & Medical Content Specialist who combines exceptional writing and content skills with strong health and medical knowledge, and can communicate complex topics clearly and credibly to both consumers and healthcare professionals.
Working across our brand portfolio, you’ll help shape, plan and deliver content from idea through to execution. You’ll create content for patients, consumers and healthcare professionals (HCPs) — spanning websites, campaigns and patient communications through to evidence-led articles, educational resources, practitioner education and HCP materials.
You’ll translate complex clinical evidence into clear, credible and engaging content, adapting your approach across different brands, audiences, formats and channels. Beyond writing, you’ll play a leading role in content planning and production, working with clinicians, subject matter experts and external contributors to develop high-quality content and keep delivery moving.
You’ll also support claims substantiation and work closely with Clinical and Regulatory teams to ensure health, medical and regulated content is accurate, well-evidenced and ready for approval.
What You'll Do
- Write and edit patient and consumer-facing content across Hazel and Polln, including website copy, campaigns, patient communications, CRM content and educational resources.
- Research, write and edit clinical and HCP-facing content across Polln, Hazel,
Cultiva and Blüm, including practitioner resources, clinical summaries and medical education materials.
- Translate complex clinical evidence into clear, accurate and engaging content, adapting your approach for different audiences, brands and channels.
- Play a leading role in content planning and prioritisation across Nectar’s brands, shaping content direction, formats and topics aligned with broader brand, marketing and commercial priorities.
- Own Nectar’s content calendar and production pipeline, managing priorities, deadlines, owners and dependencies, proactively flagging risks and keeping delivery on track.
- Identify content opportunities based on patient needs, clinical expertise, search behaviour and marketing priorities, working collaboratively across Brand, Growth and Creative.
- Interview clinicians, healthcare professionals and subject matter experts to develop credible, original content.
- Partner with brand and marketing leads on campaign content, messaging and storytelling, taking content from brief and ideation through to execution.
- Source, brief and manage freelance writers and specialist contributors as required.
- Support claims substantiation and manage content through Clinical and Regulatory review, ensuring regulated content is accurate, well-evidenced and ready for approval.
- Maintain approved-content libraries and supporting evidence with appropriate version control.
What We're Looking For
You’ll ideally have:
- 7+ years’ experience in health and medical content, medical communications,
content marketing or a related role within healthcare or another regulated environment.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills across both consumer and professional audiences, with the ability to move confidently between brand, campaign, digital, educational and clinical content.
- Demonstrable ability to interpret clinical literature and translate evidence into accurate, engaging content.
- Experience supporting claims substantiation and clinical or regulatory review processes.
- Working knowledge of Australian therapeutic goods advertising requirements, including restrictions around promoting prescription-only products.
- Strong clinical and HCP writing skills, with the judgement to appropriately caveat clinical information and avoid overclaiming.
- Experience writing for both patient and practitioner audiences, with the ability to adapt complex information to different levels of clinical knowledge.
- Strong editorial judgement, attention to detail and the ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple content streams from idea through to delivery.
- Experience working with clinicians, subject matter experts and external contributors, including briefing or managing freelance and specialist contributors where required.
- Experience or knowledge across medicinal cannabis, pain, women's health or other regulated healthcare categories will be highly desirable.
