Senior HSE Advisor - KCGM Project - FIFO - 2:1 Roster / 12 Month Fixed Term Contract / Point of Hire: Perth
This is an exciting opportunity to join a major renewable energy project where you'll help drive a proactive safety culture and support protected project delivery. Working alongside experienced project teams, you’ll provide HSE advice and build strong relationships across the site.
About The Role
As the site based Senior HSE Advisor, you’ll provide HSE leadership and be responsible for managing project HSE requirements, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with Zenith Energy, client and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HSE leadership across project activities and ensure compliance with Zenith Energy and client HSE requirements.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across site, proactively identifying and addressing HSE risks and concerns.
- Support the establishment and ongoing management of safe project sites in accordance with client requirements and applicable legislation.
- Review contractor safety plans and provide guidance on SWMS, SWPs, JHAs and other project safety documentation.
- Lead incident and near-miss investigations, including the identification and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Conduct and oversee site inspections,
audits and other HSE assurance activities.
- Manage compliance associated with high-risk activities, including permits and authorisations.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, safety drills and crisis management activities.
- Maintain project HSE documentation, reports and registers and support corporate HSE reporting requirements.
- Lead toolbox meetings and support training, competency assessments and VOC activities.
- Liaise with clients regarding site HSE matters, including first aid, injury management, hazardous materials and waste.
- Provide mentoring, guidance and support to HSE Advisors and site personnel, sharing knowledge and promoting consistent HSE practices.
About You You are an experienced HSE professional with a strong background supporting construction, projects or other high-risk operational environments, ideally within the power, energy, mining or resources sectors. You are confident working in a site-based setting and have the ability to build effective relationships with project teams, contractors and clients while maintaining high safety standards.
As a senior member of the project team, you bring a practical and proactive approach to HSE, with the confidence to provide advice, challenge unsafe practices and support others to continuously improve safety performance.
- Minimum 7 years' HSE experience, including experience working in FIFO or remote environments.
- Strong knowledge of Federal and State workplace health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
- Root Cause Analysis training.
- Internal and/or External Auditor certification.
- Current Senior First Aid qualification.
- Robust incident investigation, risk management and HSE assurance capability.
- Strong administration, reporting and documentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with employees, contractors and clients.
- Competency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Current Manual C-Class driver's licence.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and 4WD off-road certification will be highly regarded.
- Full, unrestricted Australian working rights are required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Certificate and medical clearance.
