We Law is a new kind of commercial law practice being built around a simple belief: exceptional legal advice should be commercially intelligent, easy to understand and delivered by people who genuinely care about the outcome.

We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Lawyer with a minimum of 5 years’ post-admission experience (PAE) to join us from the beginning and play a key role in building the firm.

Built by experienced operators

While We Law is a current firm, the experience behind it isn’t.

Our founders and owners bring more than 15 years of experience building one of Australia’s fastest-growing law firms, together with a combined 40+ years of experience building, operating and successfully exiting businesses across law, finance and real estate.

That experience extends internationally, with the founders having business and legal experience across Australia, Singapore and Indonesia, bringing a broader commercial perspective to the firm.

We understand that clients don’t come to lawyers simply looking for an explanation of the law. They’re making decisions about businesses, investments, transactions, partnerships and risk.

We Law is being built to give them legal advice through that commercial lens.

The Opportunity

This isn’t an opportunity to simply inherit a desk, manage a file load and fit into an established hierarchy.

It’s an opportunity to help shape one.

As one of We Law’s foundational senior lawyers, you’ll have genuine influence over how the practice operates, how clients are serviced and what the culture of the firm becomes.

You’ll work directly with business owners, founders, executives and commercial clients across a range of business and corporate matters, providing practical advice that considers both the legal position and the commercial objective.

We want someone who can provide exceptional legal advice without unnecessary complexity—and who believes the best lawyers operate as trusted commercial advisers, not simply legal technicians.





What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll take responsibility for a broad range of commercial and business law matters, including:

Commercial agreements and contracts

Business acquisitions and disposals

Corporate structuring and advisory

Shareholder, partnership and joint venture matters

Commercial negotiations

Business disputes

Risk management

General commercial advisory

You’ll manage matters with a high degree of autonomy while developing strong, long-term relationships with clients.

As an early senior member of We Law, you’ll also have the opportunity to help develop our systems, precedents, technology, client experience and service standards, ultimately helping shape how the firm delivers legal services.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an accomplished commercial lawyer who is ready for something more than another traditional law-firm role.

To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 5 years’ PAE, ideally with substantial experience across commercial, corporate and/or business law.

You’ll also bring

A current Australian practising certificate, or eligibility to hold one

Strong drafting, negotiation and advisory capabilities The confidence to manage matters and client relationships independently

Excellent commercial judgement and an ability to understand the business behind the legal issue A clear, concise and approachable communication style

High professional standards and sound judgement An entrepreneurial mindset A genuine interest in helping build and grow a modern legal practice

Most importantly, we want someone who believes legal advice should give clients clarity and confidence to make better decisions.
