The Prospect An excellent opportunity has become available for an Associate or Senior Associate to join a specialist disputes practice focused on mortgage recoveries, secured lending and enforcement.

Working with a well-established lender client base, you will advise across the full recovery lifecycle, from initial default and enforcement strategy through to possession, realisation and recovery. The role offers significant autonomy, direct client contact and the opportunity to manage complex matters from instruction through to resolution.

The Role

You will work across a range of mortgage recovery and enforcement matters, including:

- Advising lenders and secured creditors on defaults, enforcement options and recovery strategies.
- Managing mortgage recovery and possession proceedings.
- Acting in contested enforcement and banking-related disputes.
- Advising on the enforcement of mortgages, guarantees and other securities.
- Managing mortgagee in possession matters and the sale of secured property.
- Preparing and reviewing demands, pleadings, affidavits and court documentation.
- Advising on insolvency and bankruptcy issues arising throughout the recovery process.
- Working with barristers, agents, receivers and other external stakeholders.
- Managing matters independently and maintaining direct relationships with lender clients.
- Providing commercially focused advice on complex or sensitive recovery matters.

At Senior Associate level, there will also be opportunities to take a leading role on more complex files, support junior lawyers and contribute to the ongoing development of key client relationships.





About You

You will be an experienced disputes lawyer with a background in mortgage recoveries, banking litigation, insolvency, secured enforcement or a closely related area.

You will bring

- Strong litigation and dispute resolution experience.
- Experience managing matters with a high degree of autonomy.
- Excellent drafting, technical and organisational skills.
- Commercial judgement and a practical approach to resolving disputes.
- Confidence communicating directly with clients and other stakeholders.
- The ability to manage competing matters and deadlines effectively.

Direct mortgage recovery experience will be highly regarded, although candidates with strong banking litigation, insolvency or secured recovery experience are also encouraged to apply.
