Role Overview

n

We're looking for an experienced Platform Support Engineer to keep our Azure-hosted platforms and client-facing applications secure, reliable and performing at their best.

n

This hands-on role is approximately 75% production operations and DevOps and 25% Level 2 and Level 3 application support. Working alongside our DevOps and engineering teams, you will maintain cloud environments, support deployments, resolve production incidents and improve the systems and processes that underpin our platforms.

n

The role includes scheduled after-hours maintenance, generally once a fortnight, as well as availability during major incidents.

n

To be successful in this role you will require:

n

At least 3 years' relevant experience

n

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is preferred

n

Three or more years of experience operating and supporting Azure cloud environments, including monitoring, patching and capacity awareness

n

Sound working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including identity, email and endpoint management

n

Practical networking knowledge covering DNS, VPN, firewalls and connectivity troubleshooting

n





Experience providing Level 2 and Level 3 application support with disciplined escalation and incident management

n

Exposure to DevOps practice, including CI/CD pipelines, release management and deployment support

n

An understanding of security best practice, backup and recovery, and compliance requirements

n

Excellent written and verbal communication with a strong customer focus

n

Keeping runbooks, support manuals and diagrams current is a crucial responsibility of this position

n

Key Accountabilities

n

Provide approximately 75% of effort across production operations and DevOps functions, keeping our Azure environments stable, secure and efficient

n

Deliver approximately 25% Level 2 and Level 3 application support, managing escalations, resolving incidents and maintaining continuity of service

n

Deploy, monitor and administer cloud applications and services, including the underlying infrastructure, certificates, backups and patching, with scheduled updates completed outside business hours approximately once a fortnight

n

Troubleshoot and support deployments, CI/CD pipelines and production environments for applications built in Python, .NET Core and Angular

n

Administer Microsoft 365 and support day to day networking needs, including DNS, VPN, firewall and connectivity issues

n

Respond promptly to service outages, including outside business hours during major incidents, restore service and complete root cause analysis so issues do not repeat

n

Use DevOps/Agile Kanban methodologies as a core philosophy for delivery

n

Keep runbooks, monitoring and alerting current, and ensure all work meets platform performance and compliance standards
