Senior Native Title Lawyer

Camatta Lawyers is a long-established full-service law firm providing high-quality legal services.

We are seeking an experienced native title lawyer to join our respected native title practice.

We represent large Aboriginal groups across South Australia (as well as groups in the Northern Territory and NSW) in native title litigation and as native title corporations managing their native title land.

Our work encompasses advice across a range of areas of law including State and Commonwealth heritage matters, large scale commercial negotiations with resource companies, governance matters, and corporate matters including industrial and commercial advice. Our work also includes negotiations for compensation, heritage, and other agreements with the mining and renewable energy industry.

Experience in native title is desirable but may not a prerequisite if you have 5+ years practising as a lawyer with transferrable experience in litigation and commercial practice.

The work undertaken by our native title team is diverse and unique.





Applicants must have excellent communication skills including speaking at meetings in front of groups, the ability to work well with others as well as independently, and skills to deliver high-quality legal advice. Applicants must also have strong drafting skills and time management. Travel is required from time to time as part of this role.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Candidates for this role must have at least 5 years’ post admission experience as a practicing lawyer and unrestricted practising certificate in South Australia (or eligibility for admission and an unrestricted practising certificate in South Australia).
