Senior Network and Infrastructure Engineer

6-month contract with potential extensions

Fully remote role across Australia

$725.00 per day including Superannuation

Altitude is seeking an experienced Senior Network and Infrastructure Engineer to join a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting.

Build and support complex enterprise network environments while working fully remote across Australia. This prospect suits a senior engineer who thrives in high-impact environments, takes ownership of critical infrastructure, and drives continuous improvement within a 24/7 support model.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of incidents, service requests, problems, and changes, including high-severity events
- Deliver proactive and reactive network support to maintain SLA compliance and service continuity
- Represent the team in CAB meetings, contributing to risk assessment and change approvals
- Collaborate with vendors and third parties to manage escalations and ensure timely issue resolution
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

Key Requirements:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline
- Strong experience in network and infrastructure engineering within enterprise environments
- Proven background in customer-facing technical support roles, ideally within a NOC or managed services environment
- Solid hands-on expertise across Routing, Switching, SD-WAN, Network Security, and Infrastructure management




- Australian Citizenship with an active NV1 security clearance or higher (non-negotiable)

Desired Qualifications:

- Prior experience within a Telco or ISP environment is highly regarded and will be considered a significant advantage
- Exposure to network automation tools and scripting languages such as Python or Ansible, supporting operational efficiency and reduced manual effort
- Experience working in or supporting Australian government or public sector environments, including familiarity with relevant security and compliance frameworks
- Demonstrated involvement in extensive network transformation, migration, or modernisation projects within enterprise settings.
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and integration patterns across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, Fortinet NSE, or ITIL Foundation are highly desirable.

This role requires availability for a 24/7 rotating shift roster and participation in an on-call roster.
