Senior Network & Firewall Engineer - Check Point SME

We’re partnering with a leading enterprise organisation seeking a Senior Network & Firewall Engineer with strong, hands-on Check Point firewall experience.
This is a genuinely technical role focused on enterprise firewall architecture, migrations and complex network infrastructure. You’ll take ownership of projects from planning and design through to implementation, including production and DR migrations.
What You'll Do
- Design, configure and implement Check Point firewall environments.
- Deliver complex enterprise firewall migrations and cutovers.
- Work across HA / clustered firewall environments.
- Manage Check Point environments through SmartConsole and Security Management.
- Configure and troubleshoot static and dynamic routing.
- Develop detailed migration, implementation and rollback plans.
- Troubleshoot complex firewall, routing, NAT and VPN issues.
- Work across production and DR environments.
- Manage changes through formal enterprise change processes.
- Review and understand environments where documentation is limited or outdated.
- Produce clear technical documentation and implementation plans.
- Participate in planned after-hours migrations and cutovers.
What We're Looking For Robust Check Point experience is essential.
You’ll need proven hands-on experience with:
- Check Point Firewalls
- Check Point Security Management
- Firewall policy design and management
- Enterprise firewall migrations
- Static and energetic routing
- BGP / OSPF or similar
- NAT, VPN and firewall policies
- Production and DR environments
- Complex network troubleshooting
- Change management and technical documentation
We’re looking for someone who can explain the technical “why” behind their decisions, not simply follow existing configurations.
Highly Regarded
- Check Point certifications
- Large-scale firewall migration experience
- Palo Alto, Fortinet or Cisco firewall experience
- MSP, Systems Integrator or Consulting background
- Enterprise / Data Centre networking experience
- Strong routing and network architecture background
