Forrestania Resources Limited (ASX: FRS) is an emerging gold producer building its team as it moves toward development of its Western Australian gold assets. As a fast-growing ASX company, we're establishing the systems, people and culture that will carry us through start-up and into production.

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Payroll Officer to take full ownership of payroll for our operations.

This is a true standalone role: you'll be the payroll expert in the business, working closely with the GM of Finance and partnering with HR and site teams to make sure our people (currently ramping up towards 200 employees across mining operations and rosters) are paid accurately and on time, every time.

Given our size and start-up stage, this role won't be limited to payroll alone. We're after someone who's genuinely happy to roll up their sleeves and support the broader finance function with other ad hoc tasks as the business grows.

About the Role

- Own end-to-end weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll processing for all employees across multiple sites and rosters, ensuring payroll is always paid on time.
- Collect, review and verify timesheets, overtime, allowances, bonuses and commissions.
- Set up and maintain employee records, ensuring compliance with tax file number and superannuation requirements.
- Calculate and process termination payments and manage end-of-year payroll finalisation (including STP and income statements).
- Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations – PAYG withholding, Single Touch Payroll, payroll tax and superannuation.
- Maintain accurate leave accrual records and interpret modern awards, enterprise agreements and employment contracts.
- Manage salary sacrifice arrangements, deductions, fringe benefits and workers' compensation claims.




- Reconcile payroll ledger accounts and prepare payroll reporting and analysis for management and audits.
- Build and document a suite of payroll policies and procedures to support the company as it scales.
- Be the go-to contact for all payroll queries, and pitch in on other finance/administrative tasks as required.

About You

- 3+ years' experience in a similar end-to-end payroll role, ideally as a standalone or senior payroll practitioner.
- Prior experience processing payroll for site-based employees on rosters within a mining or resources environment is essential.
- Hands-on experience with Pronto payroll/accounting software is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Solid understanding of payroll tax, superannuation, employment legislation and modern award interpretation.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and a strong sense of confidentiality.
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills, with the ability to self-manage under recurring deadlines.
- A flexible, can-do attitude and willingness to support the wider finance team beyond payroll – particularly valuable in a growing start-up environment.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with people at all levels of the business.
