CloudMarc is an Australian specialist consultancy delivering Quality Engineering, test automation, cloud and digital-transformation services to leading enterprise organisations. We are looking for experienced Quality Engineers to support a major Australian enterprise client across customer-facing digital platforms.
This is a hands-on Quality Engineering role embedded within a digital squad. You will work across functional testing and automation, with Java coding and web automation development forming an essential part of the position.
What you will be doing
Design and execute risk-based test coverage for stories, features and releases.
Perform functional, exploratory, regression, integration and end-to-end web testing.
Develop and maintain reliable Java-based UI and API automated tests.
Review requirements and acceptance criteria to identify gaps, risks and edge cases early.
Work closely with developers on testability, coverage, debugging and shared ownership of quality.
Participate in defect triage, root-cause analysis and release-readiness discussions.
Support test data, environments, CI/CD and quality tooling within the squad.
What we are looking for
Recent, hands-on Java coding experience — this is mandatory.
Practical experience building and maintaining web UI automation.
Strong API testing knowledge and experience contributing to API-first testing.
Strong functional and exploratory testing capability.
Experience with risk-based test design, integration testing and defect investigation.
Ability to produce readable, maintainable and reusable automation aligned with approved standards.
Experience collaborating directly with developers in an agile delivery workplace.
Highly desirable
Accessibility testing and visual-regression experience.
CI/CD pipeline and shift-left testing experience.
Experience using AI-assisted test design or automation with appropriate human review.
Retail or high-volume customer-facing digital experience.

CloudMarc is looking for Quality Engineers who are comfortable moving between functional testing, exploratory testing and automation. Effective automation is more than writing scripts: it requires selecting the right scenarios, producing maintainable and reusable solutions, and ensuring automated coverage delivers genuine value to engineering and delivery teams.
The process includes an initial Talent Team screen, a CloudMarc interview and a final client interview.
