The Opportunity
n Our client is a well-established Melbourne surveying firm with a strong base of volume builder, architect and building designer clients. They're seeking a confident surveyor to join their team to build out their feature surveying team.
n
What You'll Be Doing
n
n
- Running residential feature & level surveys end-to-end across metro Melbourne (with the odd Geelong or Ballarat day trip — no regional swings, no FIFO)
n
- Planning your own jobs, managing your own run, working autonomously in the field
n
- Capturing clean, complete surveys — services, levels, trees, adjoining structures, the lot
n
- Coding your field data for an external drafting team, then QA'ing the returned plans before they go out the door
n
- Down the track: helping recruit, train and lead the surveyors who join under you
n
n
All equipment is provided and up-to-date, including a robotic total station and GNSS.
Drafting is handled by a dedicated team, so your focus stays on the field and quality control.
n
What You'll Bring
n
n
- Solid experience delivering feature & level surveys independently; you can run a job start to finish without someone checking over your shoulder
n
- Robust, consistent field coding habits (your data goes straight to drafting, so this matters)
n
- Confidence on robotic total stations and GNSS
n
- Enough CAD literacy to properly check plans against your field work
n
- A Diploma or Degree in Surveying/Geospatial Science is great — but demonstrated field capability counts just as much.
n
- Full working rights in Australia and a current driver's licence
