About the Role

SW Consult is a growing engineering consultancy specialising in remedial, structural and building related engineering across the existing built environment. We work across residential strata, commercial, government, industrial, education and healthcare projects, delivering practical engineering solutions backed by strong technical expertise.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Remedial Engineer to join our team and take a leading role across a diverse portfolio of projects.

This is a senior technical and client facing position suited to an engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of complex remedial projects from the initial investigation and diagnosis through to design, tendering, construction and completion.

You will work directly with clients, contractors and other consultants, lead the technical delivery of projects, provide guidance to junior engineers and help shape the continued growth and development of SW Consult.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead detailed site inspections, building investigations and condition assessments
- Diagnose building defects, structural issues and deterioration, and develop practical remediation strategies
- Prepare and review engineering reports, technical advice and recommendations
- Develop repair methodologies, technical specifications and detailed scopes of work
- Manage remedial projects from investigation and design through tendering, construction and completion
- Provide contract administration and superintendent services during construction
- Review contractor submissions, variations, progress claims and technical queries
- Attend project meetings and provide clear, practical technical advice to clients and stakeholders
- Liaise directly with strata managers, committees, building managers, contractors, architects and other consultants
- Manage project budgets, programmes, deliverables and client expectations




- Undertake technical reviews and provide guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal engineering standards, systems and technical documentation
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to repeat business and future business development opportunities

About You We are looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with the confidence to manage projects, communicate with clients and make sound engineering decisions.

You will ideally have

- A minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering experience, including substantial experience in remedial, structural or existing building engineering
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Current RPEQ registration or Chartered Engineer status
- A current Construction White Card
- Strong knowledge of building structures, concrete, steel, masonry, waterproofing, corrosion, facade systems and common building defects
- Demonstrated experience investigating building defects and developing practical remediation solutions
- Strong experience preparing technical reports, scopes of work, specifications and tender documentation
- Experience providing contract administration or superintendent services
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage project budgets and programmes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence communicating directly with clients, committees, contractors and senior stakeholders




- The ability to independently manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and sound technical judgement
- A genuine commitment to delivering high quality engineering and client service
- A current Australian driver's licence

Desirable Skills and Experience Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:

- Strata and body corporate projects
- Facade remediation and building envelope investigations
- Concrete repair and corrosion related remediation
- Waterproofing investigations and remediation
- Structural defect investigations
- Working Safely at Heights certification
- Mentoring or supervising engineers
- Existing relationships within the remedial, strata, construction or property industries
