About the role:
Our host employer, Mechvac Engineering, provides end-to-end engineering design, fabrication and installation services across six major industry sectors. They specialise in delivering process plant equipment and air handling solutions across the mining, defence, food, automotive, water and manufacturing sectors. Mechvac provides innovative, customised solutions for industrial projects throughout Australia.

Working alongside skilled tradespeople, you will learn a range of fabrication techniques and develop the knowledge required to become a qualified Fabricator.

Your duties will include:

- Learning to operate fabrication machinery including guillotines, brake presses, rollers, folders, welding equipment and lockseam machines
- Assisting with the fabrication of mechanical components and assemblies to specification
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and plans
- Liaising with engineering staff, tradespeople and customers
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Maintaining a clean and safe work workplace
- Developing robust problem-solving and teamwork skills

Location: Pooraka
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7.00am – 3.30pm with overtime available

About you:

- Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia
- Minimum completion of Year 11 High School
- Driver’s License and reliable transport
- You are reliable with good time management skills
- Genuine interest in engineering and fabrication
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Good attention to detail
- Construction Induction (White Card) and High Risk License (Forklift) desirable
