FamilyCare is inviting expressions of interest from accomplished senior leaders for a Non-Executive Director opportunity on its Board. With a new Strategic Plan, new Board Chair and new CEO, this is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of one of regional Victoria’s most respected community service organisations.
FamilyCare supports children, families, carers and people with disability across the Goulburn Valley and lower Hume region, with offices in Shepparton, Seymour, Wallan and Cobram. As the main provider of child and family services in its region, FamilyCare also delivers disability, NDIS, carer and related community supports, including emergency recovery.
This role will suit senior professionals who bring strong experience in legal practice, governance, regulation, compliance, finance, accounting, audit, commercial stewardship or risk oversight. Experience in complex or highly regulated environments will be valued, and additional exposure to human services, HR, digital, data, AI or technology-enabled service improvement will be well regarded.
As a Board Director, you will contribute to FamilyCare’s strategic direction, governance, risk and compliance oversight, and long-term financial sustainability. Beyond technical capability, the ideal candidate will bring sound judgement, strategic perspective, integrity and a genuine commitment to inclusive,



community-centred leadership.
For you, this is more than a volunteer commitment. It's an chance to broaden your governance experience at Board level, build your network among senior leaders and peers across the region, and deepen your understanding of the community services and health sectors while genuinely giving back.
What’s involved· Voluntary Non-Executive Director role.· Three-year term, with a maximum of three terms.· The Board currently meets 10 times each year, with additional meetings as required.· Meetings are mostly in person, with some online participation.· Participation in Board subcommittees is expected.· Professional development is supported throughout tenure.FamilyCare welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds and lived experiences and is particularly interested in candidates from within its catchment. Shortlisted candidates will progress through a written application and interview process.
Candidate Requirements· Current Victorian Police check (FamilyCare will facilitate)· Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)· Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)FamilyCare will facilitate appropriate clearances for a successful applicant.
