Tell me more...Located in the southern Cape York and Torres & Cape region, communities such as Kowanyama, Pormpuraaw, Hope Vale, Coen, Aurukun, Mapoon and Laura offer a relaxed remote lifestyle surrounded by rivers, wetlands, bushland and coastal landscapes, with essential facilities including schools, health services, supermarkets, airports and sporting amenities, alongside opportunities for fishing, camping, cultural experiences, community events and outdoor adventure.
This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in remote and rural nursing while making a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Cape York. As a Clinical Nurse within Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service, you will deliver a diverse mix of acute, emergency and primary health care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve health outcomes and support community wellbeing. No two days are the same, with opportunities to develop advanced clinical skills, provide leadership and mentoring to nursing and Indigenous health workers, respond to after-hours emergencies, and experience the rich cultures, landscapes and rewarding challenges that come with remote healthcare practice.
