People Services Branch is looking for experienced, skilled, high performing and motivated human resources (HR) specialists, in either the payroll, HR reporting or SAP (Technical) Projects functions, with capabilities at the APS6 level to fill a number of vacancies.
The Payroll Team delivers fortnightly pays via SAP to the department’s employees as well as a client agency under a shared services arrangement. The team administers conditions of service and entitlements for employees including processing of pay, leave and superannuation. You will be required to undertake complex payroll matters and ensure transactions are applied in accordance with legislation, regulations and department policies.
The HR Reporting Team delivers all of the department’s mandatory HR reporting obligations, both internal and legislative requirements. The team collects, cleans, and analyses data from the HR systems to answer key workforce questions, and generates reports, dashboards, and visualisations to communicate trends in attrition, hiring, performance, pay, and leave patterns. The team also supports organisational structure requirements and modifications. The team’s activities are critical in supporting HR and business leaders in making data-driven decisions and workforce planning.
The SAP Projects Team lead a variety of technical and administrative activities to design, build, test, and maintain the HR SAP applications.
You’ll be involved in the development support process, including release, change, configuration, incident and issues management, and ensuring the efficient and quality delivery of services. You will also be responsible for coordinating responses to audits on the SAP system, as well as elements of HR reporting.
The key duties of the position include:
- support day-to-day HR operations such as payroll, commencements, cessations, organisational establishment requests, project management, system updates, addressing system errors and SAP HR reporting
- support a small team, overseeing the processing of payroll transactions, providing advice on pay related matters and monitoring areas of risk
- undertake complex payroll matters and ensure transactions are applied in accordance with legislation, regulations and department policies.
