About the position

The Senior School Vocal Coach plays a key role in preparing students for performances, developing vocal ensembles and fostering confidence in students’ individual growth and musicality.

The Senior School Vocal Coach works under the direct supervision of the Music Ensembles and Instrumental Coordinator. The specific areas of responsibility are outlined under the responsibilities of the role.
Essential Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in vocal coaching of students
- Solid understanding of vocal technique including breath control, pitch and intonation, musical expression and interpretation
- Experience preparing students for performances, concerts, examinations and auditions
- Competence in selecting and adapting repertoire appropriate to students’ developmental stages.
Personal Qualities
- Ability to motivate, encourage and build students’ confidence
- Highly developed time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills underpinned by the Loreto values
Essential Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Music, Vocal Performance, Music Education or a related discipline
- Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care certificate

Application Details
The position is a replacement part-time position, working 10.0 hours per week. The position commences on 12 October 2026 and concludes on 24 September 2027. Opportunity to work as an Instrumental Tutor is also possible.

Additional Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Music, Vocal Performance, Music Education or a related discipline will be highly regarded
