About the role - Residential Youth Worker (Flexi Team)
As a Residential Youth Worker, you will help create a safe, stable, and healing home environment for children and young people. You will support day-to-day routines, respond with therapeutic, trauma-informed care, and work alongside your team to build trust, strengthen life skills, and improve outcomes as young people rebuild their lives.
Join our Flexi Team on a 7 days on 7 days off roster and provide support across multiple residential care homes wherever you are needed most. This role offers variety, flexibility, and the chance to make a positive impact across different therapeutic care environments while remaining part of a consistent team structure.
Key responsibilities
- Work across a range of residential care homes based on operational needs
- Provide stability, therapeutic support, and positive outcomes for children and young people
- Support day-to-day routines with therapeutic, trauma-informed care
- Build trust, strengthen life skills, and improve outcomes as young people rebuild their lives
- Work as part of a supportive team to create a safe, stable, and healing home environment
About you
- Certificate IV (or higher) in Youth Work, Community Services, or related
- Experience working with young people in a residential or similar setting
- Understanding of Therapeutic Parenting & Trauma Informed Care
- Passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people
- Confident providing trauma informed, therapeutic care
- Adaptable, resilient, and calm under pressure
- A strong communicator who can work independently or as part of a supportive team
- Skilled in building trust, maintaining boundaries, and promoting the child's voice
- National Police Clearance
- First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check, WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence, and ability to meet the Department of Communities RCCA requirements
