Benalla Church Street Surgery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse with a passion for quality improvement to join our healthcare team on a full time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy general practice providing essential patient care and support within a collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including wound dressing, injections, immunisations and blood pressure monitoring
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and clinical examinations as directed by medical practitioners
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with clinical governance standards
- Administer medications and manage patient medications as per practice protocols
- Provide patient education and health advice on preventative care and treatment options
- Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic clinical environment adhering to infection prevention and control standards
- Assist in quality improvement projects
- Contribute to the smooth running of the practice through effective communication and teamwork
What we're looking for
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Demonstrated experience working in general practice or primary healthcare settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using practice management software and electronic health records
- A commitment to maintaining professional development and staying current with clinical best practice
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team
- Sound knowledge of infection control and workplace health and safety requirements
- Knowledge of current immunisation schedules, diabetes management, asthma management, enhanced primary care items, infection control, CPR and emergency resuscitation techniques, equipment & drugs.
