The Midwest Region extends along the coast from Lancelin in the south to north of Carnarvon then inland past Meekatharra. The regional headquarters is in Geraldton. District offices are located at Geraldton, Jurien Bay and Denham, with District work centres at Monkey Mia, Burringurrah, Yulga Jinna, Gascoyne Junction, Kalbarri, Thundelarra, Cue, Cervantes and the Pinnacles. The lands and waters we manage with our Traditional Owner partners are varied and beautiful, from coastal cliffs, dunes and heath to rich marine communities to outback ranges and vast scrublands.
We currently have an chance for a Ranger to join our team.
Under the immediate direction of the Senior Ranger, this position:
- Carries out programmed operational activities and field logistical support from the Gascoyne Junction work centre,
across the Yinggarda conservation estate, including Kennedy Range (Mundatharrda) National Park, Bimbee National Park, One Tree Point (Jigabiddi) Nature Reserve, Chinaman’s Pool (Beerideegoorah) Nature Reserve and others areas as required, working with Yinggarda Rangers and Ranger Assistants, as directed.
- Assists with fire, feral animal, weed and interpretative programs working with Yinggarda Rangers and Ranger Assistants.
- Implements works programs consistent with departmental guidelines, policies and management plans as approved by the Yinggarda Joint Management Body.
