- Temporary Clerk Grade 7/8 role base salary ($116,981-$129,492) based in Mascot for 12 months.

About the role

As a Project Officer, you will work closely within the Reform and Innovation team to advance organisational objectives. Key responsibilities include supporting project planning and policy development; undertaking research and analysis of relevant policy issues; preparing briefs, reports, correspondence and other documents; facilitating engagement with government and non-government stakeholders; monitoring progress; and contributing to the implementation of innovative strategies to promote efficient project delivery and favourable organisational results.

This role is part of the Aboriginal Affairs, Reform, and Innovation branch in the Closing the Gap Priority Reform 2 team focused on strengthening the Community-controlled sector. Reform and Innovation work in genuine partnership with Aboriginal peoples and communities to shape policies and reforms that reflect their needs and aspirations. Over 50 percent of our team, including senior leadership, identify as Aboriginal. We are committed to providing a culturally safe and supportive workplace.

- Negotiation and Re-prioritisation:



Skilled at managing individual workloads under tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.
- Governance & Policy: Consistently uphold governance standards and compliance despite limited time and resources.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Proficient in drafting accurate correspondence, engaging stakeholders, and coordinating groups to support projects.
- Research & Analysis: Experienced in research, trend analysis, and preparing evidence-based advice to inform decision-making and support Closing the Gap reforms.
- Adaptability & Initiative: Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and the flexibility to adjust to rapidly changing project demands, ensuring deliverables remain on track.
- Collaboration & Cultural Competence: Build strong, respectful relationships with team members, Aboriginal stakeholders and broader community partners, fostering an environment of trust and cultural understanding to advance shared goals.
