About the Role
Reporting to the Education Designer, the Learning Designer will support educators across the University’s Higher Education (HE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) sectors to create innovative, accessible, and engaging learning experiences that respond to the needs of diverse learners. The role will promote the effective adoption, development, and evaluation of learning technologies, while developing resources that enhance teaching practices, educational quality, and student outcomes.
The Learning Designer will design, customise, and deliver professional development focused on effective teaching practices through the Educator Capability Program (ECP). They will also provide expert advice and consultation on learning design, pedagogy, and assessment across a range of delivery modes, including face-to-face, online, and blended learning environments.
We are recruiting for three Learning Designers.
Hybrid role – This is a three-day-per-week office-based role, with flexibility for employees to choose the days that work best for them.
Campus location: This role can be based at either our Hawthorn or Croydon campus.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Proven experience designing and developing innovative units and courses for blended and online learning environments.
- Experience delivering professional development and capability-building initiatives that enhance teaching practice in higher education and/or vocational education settings.
- Demonstrated experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and a range of educational technologies to support learning and teaching.
- Ability to guide and support teaching staff in learning design, assessment design, and the effective use of digital technologies for blended learning.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships.
- Sound understanding of adult learning principles, contemporary learning theories,
and digital learning practices.
- Ability to work effectively and independently with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience providing learning design expertise and support to project teams, workshops, and educational initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute positively to collaborative teams while effectively managing competing priorities and working autonomously when required.
