CREST Education comprises two independent, coeducational schools with over 2,200 students, an Equestrian Centre and an Environmental Reserve at Clyde North. Hillcrest Christian College, established in 1981, operates from Early Learning to VCE levels. Rivercrest Christian College is an authorised International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) World School, with modern facilities at Clyde North. It is a growing College, adding a new year level each year; our first Year 11 classes commence in 2024.
CREST Education invites applications for the unique position of IB Diploma Performing Arts Teacher working with our Middle Years (6-10) students. The successful candidate will be required to carry out teaching duties in Music and Performing Arts for our (6-10) Rivercrest students on a part-time (0.5), ongoing contract arrangement, starting 20th January 2027.
The successful candidate will have:
- The desire to teach in an environment where both Christian values and academic excellence are emphasised
- Passionate about teaching Music and Performing Arts
- Relevant qualifications with VIT registration and commitment to professional learning
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proven record of field-work experience and/or relevant tertiary qualifications
- IB professional learning or subject-specific IB training is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Use data and observations to tailor instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning.
- Support the social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students in alignment with school values.
- Implement classroom management strategies that promote respectful and responsible behaviours.
- Identify and support students with learning challenges or additional needs, working closely with Learning Support teams.
- Foster positive relationships with parents, caregivers, and community members, promoting a cooperative and inclusive school culture
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan lessons, share best practices, and contribute to curriculum development.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to improve teaching effectiveness.
- A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering both academic and personal growth in students.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex design concepts and engage effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Dedicated to ongoing professional development maintaining a proactive approach to teaching.
