Project Manager – Commercial Painting

South Brisbane & Gold Coast | Established Specialist Contractor

An established Queensland commercial painting and building refurbishment contractor is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join its team working out of the South Brisbane office with Projects in the local area and Gold Coast.

Operating across South East Queensland for more than 40 years, the business has built an excellent reputation delivering complex commercial painting, high-rise, façade and refurbishment projects. It has a substantial in-house workforce and capability across painting, remedial works, waterproofing and high-access works, providing the infrastructure to successfully deliver large and challenging projects.

This is an opportunity for an experienced commercial painting professional to step into a key delivery role within a reliable, well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of work.

The Role

Working across significant commercial painting projects, you will take responsibility for the successful management and delivery of projects from commencement through to completion.

You will work closely with clients, Tier 1 and major builders, site teams and internal management, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Managing commercial painting projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover
- Coordinating site teams, labour, subcontractors and project resources
- Managing programme, quality, safety and commercial outcomes
- Maintaining strong relationships with builders, clients and key project stakeholders
- Managing project documentation through Aconex and other major builder platforms
- Driving QA compliance including ITPs, QMPs and sample registers
- Preparing accurate weekly and monthly project reports
- Managing electronic timesheets, labour information and project data
- Supporting workforce planning and attracting suitable trades and site personnel
- Ensuring documentation,



reporting and compliance requirements are maintained throughout the project

About You

This position requires someone who genuinely understands the commercial painting industry. We are looking for a PM who combines practical painting knowledge with the systems, documentation and stakeholder-management capability expected when working with major commercial builders.

To be considered, you will ideally demonstrate:

- Commercial painting Project Management experience – essential
- A strong practical background within the painting industry
- Experience delivering substantial painting packages for Tier 1 or major commercial builders
- Strong working knowledge of Aconex and similar builder/project management platforms
- Excellent understanding of QA systems and compliance, particularly ITPs, QMPs and sample registers
- Robust computer literacy and confidence with data entry, reporting and electronic timesheet management
- The ability to professionally manage builder and client relationships
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- A stable employment history and strong references from relevant commercial projects

Salary

Circa $150k + Super

There is some flexibility in the package for an exceptional candidate with the right commercial painting experience, qualifications and Tier 1 project exposure.
