We're looking for an enthusiastic and community-focused Youth Officer to join our Youth Services team and help deliver engaging programs, activities and events that create positive outcomes for local young people aged 11-18 years. In this rewarding role, you'll build meaningful connections, foster safe and inclusive spaces, and contribute to programs that make a genuine difference in the community.

About the Role

As a Youth Officer, you'll be responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating youth programs that promote positive socialisation, recreation and community participation. Working under the guidance of the Senior Youth Officer, you'll support young people through engaging activities while helping maintain safe, welcoming and well-presented youth facilities.

This is a permanent full-time position predominantly based at The Base in Wickham. Travel to other City of Karratha youth facilities may be required from time to time to support service delivery. The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with youth program operations and events.

What You'll Be Doing

- Deliver engaging recreational,



educational and social programs for young people aged 11-18 years.
- Build positive relationships with young people and promote a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.
- Support the delivery of youth events, projects, festivals and community initiatives throughout the year.
- Assist with the day-to-day operation, presentation and safety of youth facilities.
- Collaborate with community stakeholders, service providers and colleagues to enhance youth outcomes.

What We're Looking For

- Experience working with young people in youth services, community services, recreation or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and engage effectively with young people.
- Understanding of youth development principles, duty of care responsibilities and behaviour management practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing competing priorities.
- Current Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate and C Class Driver's Licence. Qualifications in Youth Work, Community Services or related disciplines will be highly regarded.
