A leading Queensland civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with a track record spanning four decades is looking for a technically focused Finance Manager to strengthen their Finance team. About the role
Reporting to the CFO, you'll take ownership of the Group's statutory reporting and run point on the external audit relationship, while mentoring a junior team member as part of the role. You'll work closely with operational leaders, joint venture partners and external advisors, with high visibility to the ELT and ownership group.

What you'll be doing:

- Owning the Group's statutory financial statements and ensuring they're accurate, compliant and delivered on time
- Managing the external audit end-to-end, from planning through to resolving queries and finalising disclosures
- Putting together technical accounting positions on complex or judgement-heavy matters, including impairment testing
- Playing a key role in due diligence and integration work as the Group grows through acquisition
- Handling consolidations, intercompany eliminations and the supporting reporting workpapers




- Building and refining reporting processes and compliance timetables to keep Group reporting scalable
- Working alongside budget holders on overhead reporting, forecasting and cost recharges
- Reviewing and guiding the work of a junior accountant in the team

What you'll bring:

- CA or CPA qualification, with a relevant degree
- At least 5 years in technical accounting, statutory reporting or audit-focused roles
- Solid grounding in Australian Accounting Standards, impairments, group consolidations and internal controls
- A confident communicator who's just as comfortable with auditors as with operational stakeholders
- Exposure to the construction industry and relevant ERP systems is a bonus, not a must
