Our services include Domestic and Family Violence Support, Employment Support, Homelessness Support, Post Release Support, and Housing Support through Housing Plus. We are currently in search of a Director of DFV and Community Services. A key part of the Executive Leadership Team, the Director of DFV and Community Services reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is responsible for the effective leadership and operation of the subsidiary organisation Plus Community in order to meet the strategic business goals of Housing Plus.

The Director DFV role will be responsible for the delivery of sustainable client-centric programs by creating strategic networks, maintaining key partner relationships and supporting a cohesive and multidisciplinary team.

The Director DFV and Community Services is responsible for all Plus Community Domestic and Family Violence and Community services, including homelessness and ITS programs.

This is a full time, permanent role, and can be based from our office located in either Orange or Bathurst.

The key responsibilities of this executive level role will include:

Strategic Leadership, including

• Lead Plus Community and ensure the development, execution, monitoring and evaluation of Organisation strategic and operational plans in collaboration with the management team.

• Propose appropriate innovative and pragmatic strategies, programs, measures and steps that Plus Community can take to best position itself to achieve its goals.

Business Development, including

• Design, develop, articulate, implement, monitor and evaluate the success of relevant projects and initiatives.

• Prepare written submissions and proposals including tenders and EOIs.

Services Management and Compliance, including

• Liaise with funding bodies to ensure contractual obligations are met and relationships are maintained and productive.





• Manage resources within approved operational and capital budgets, and in line with delegations.

• Ensure service structures, systems, documentation and data collection meet government funding, compliance and regulatory requirements.

Continuous Improvement, including

• Ensure rigorous risk assessment, planning, feedback processes and corrective mechanisms are in place to support the achievement of quality outcomes.

• Regularly review organisational structure and capabilities to maximise performance and service delivery and ensure capability to grow effectively.

Community Engagement, including

• Develop a strategic approach to building community and stakeholder partnerships.

• Represent and advocate on behalf of the Organisation for all major communications and dealings with external stakeholders, providing insight and operational direction on issues affecting community and services.

You will also be responsible for the WHS requirements of the staff in your area, including the management of psychosocial and physical safety.

Our ideal candidate will model the values of our organisation and lead by example. In addition, ideally you will have:

• Demonstrated senior leadership and management experience, with the ability to translate organisational vision and strategy into effective day-to-day operations.

• Strong business acumen, including the ability to contribute to sustainable organisational performance and informed decision-making.

• Proven capability in coaching, mentoring and leading staff within a client-focused service environment.

• Demonstrated ability to identify, engage and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in support of organisational strategic and operational objectives.

• High level of initiative, resilience and results orientation, with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a complex operating environment.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the community services sector, including current service delivery trends, challenges and opportunities.

• Ability to develop and implement innovative,



practical and client-centred solutions for people experiencing complex and diverse barriers.

• Extensive knowledge of relevant policy, legislative and regulatory requirements applicable to community services.

• Demonstrated financial management capability and commercial awareness, with a strategic approach to identifying opportunities, managing resources and driving continuous improvement.

• Flexibility and willingness to travel and work across multiple locations, including intrastate and interstate travel as required.

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline

Experience working with vulnerable client groups, an understanding of the needs of people on low incomes, and a desire to make a difference in our community will be highly regarded.

You will also need a current drivers licence, flexibility to travel to other sites and work across multiple locations, ability to obtain a Police Check, Working With Children Check and NDIS workers check.
