About the role and where you will be working:

Southern Cross Care WA is seeking a compassionate and organised Volunteer and NODA Coordinator to support the delivery of our Volunteer Services and No One Dies Alone (NODA) program. This role plays an key part in ensuring volunteers are effectively recruited, supported, coordinated, and recognised across our Residential services.

Working closely with the Head of Pastoral Care & Volunteer Services, you will coordinate the mobilisation of volunteers, oversee volunteer administration and compliance requirements, support volunteer training and engagement activities, and facilitate the NODA program to ensure residents receiving end of life care are supported by trained volunteers when needed.

This is a part time maximum term contract position (45 hours per fortnight) providing maternity leave cover from 12 October 2026 to 25 April 2027.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Coordinating and supporting Southern Cross Care WA's volunteer and NODA programs in line with established policies, procedures, and program requirements.
- Maintaining accurate volunteer records, compliance documentation, and database information in accordance with privacy requirements.
- Assisting with the recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing support of volunteers, including specialised NODA volunteers.
- Coordinating NODA volunteer requests from residential sites and scheduling volunteer shifts for residents receiving end of life care.
- Providing ongoing support and wellbeing check-ins for volunteers following NODA shifts.
- Building positive relationships with volunteers and maintaining regular communication to ensure a positive volunteer experience.




- Assisting with volunteer engagement initiatives, including the annual Volunteer Appreciation Event.
- Completing administrative tasks such as invoice processing, reimbursement requests, reporting activities, and maintaining compliance records.
- Working collaboratively with residential care teams and key stakeholders to support the effective delivery of volunteer services.

You bring strong interpersonal skills and a genuine ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. With a calm and empathetic approach, you provide support in sensitive situations while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and respect.

You are comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and using technology to support efficient service delivery. Most importantly, you share Southern Cross Care WA's values and commitment to enabling extraordinary outcomes for residents, volunteers, and colleagues.

To be considered for this role you’ll need:

- Demonstrated empathy, sensitivity, and patience when working with volunteers, residents, families, and stakeholders.
- The ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse social, cultural, religious, and economic background.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Well developed written communication skills, including accurate grammar and editing abilities.
- Excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and confidence using databases and technology systems.




- The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
