About the role
Boab Tavern is seeking an experienced and qualified Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful applicant will work closely with our Head Chef and kitchen management team to deliver high-quality food, maintain efficient kitchen operations, and ensure exceptional standards are consistently achieved.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals in accordance with menu specifications and kitchen standards.
- Assist with the daily operation of the kitchen, including preparation, service, and cleaning procedures.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Manage food preparation, storage, stock rotation, and safe handling procedures.
- Assist with menu execution and contribute ideas to improve kitchen operations.
- Monitor stock levels, minimise food wastage,
and support food cost management.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a safe and organised working environment.
- Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen team members where required.
About you
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Relevant culinary qualifications and/or demonstrated industry experience.
- Robust knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP principles.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Experience with stock control, ordering, and food cost management.
