Apprenticeships Are Us is seeking a motivated 1st Year Engineering – Fabrication Trade Apprentice to join one of our host employers in Darra, QLD.

This is a fantastic prospect to learn a specialised trade while working alongside experienced fabricators and tradespeople on exciting custom truck projects.

You'll gain hands-on experience while completing a MEM31925 Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, developing practical skills across welding, metal fabrication, custom modifications and component manufacturing.

What You'll Learn

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll gain practical experience in:

- Welding and metal fabrication.

- MIG and TIG welding techniques.

- Cutting, grinding and shaping steel.

- Measuring and marking out materials accurately.

- Reading and interpreting drawings, measurements and specifications.

- Using hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment.

- Fabricating brackets, frames and components.





- Custom truck modifications and fabrication.

- Metal preparation and finishing.

- Manufacturing and modifying components for custom truck projects.

- Following workshop safety procedures and correctly using equipment.

- Working alongside experienced tradespeople to complete high-quality projects.

About You

We're looking for someone who is motivated, reliable and genuinely interested in developing a long-term career in engineering and fabrication.

To be successful, you'll have:

- A strong mechanical or engineering interest.

- A willingness to learn and develop new skills.

- Good attention to detail.

- A hands-on approach to work.

- Reliability and punctuality.

- A current driver's licence (P1 or above preferred).

- Previous workshop, mechanical, welding or school-based experience is an advantage but not essential.
