About the opportunity
As a Reserves Response Officer, you’ll play an important role in maintaining Kingston’s parks, reserves, and public open spaces. Your work helps create protected, clean, and enjoyable environments for families, children, and the wider community.
This role is hands‑on, varied, and supported by a friendly team who will help you build confidence with tools, equipment, and systems — whether you’re experienced or looking to grow your skills.
What you’ll do
- Carry out routine and responsive maintenance such as mowing, litter collection, graffiti removal, painting, and general landscaping
- Assist with repairs and installation of park furniture, gates, bins, and recreation equipment
- Support inspections, small projects, and asset condition assessments
- Use Council’s IT systems to record and report maintenance activities
What you’ll bring
We welcome applicants with a range of backgrounds. You may have a Trade Certificate, or you may have gained practical experience through hands‑on work in areas like gardening, landscaping, construction,
sports turf, or general maintenance.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is comfortable learning to use hand tools, power tools, and machinery (training provided)
- Holds a valid Victorian driver’s licence (manual MR preferred but not essential)
- Has or is willing to obtain a Working with Children Check
- Enjoys working in a team and communicating with others
- Takes pride in contributing to community wellbeing
