Food Service Assistant (Casual) - Immediate Start

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Food Services Assistant to join our team and deliver exceptional food service in a safe, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere under the supervision of our Chef.

Experience working in Aged Care and/or Residential Care will be highly desirable.

Hours & Roster

- Hours are generally 7:00am to 2:30pm and 10:00am to 6:30pm for shifts required. On weekends some shifts may be 10:00am to 2:00pm to 6:30pm. These times may vary.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparation of meals as instructed by the Chef

- Understand the different textures and plating methods for textured modified foods

- Have a clear understanding of the dietary needs of residents

- Maintain a high standard of hygiene in the main kitchen and serveries

- Plating meals and setting dining room tables

- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen and dining setting

- Food safety requirements

About You

- Compassionate, respectful and patient

- High Degree of empathy for persons with disability and mental health issues

- an energetic and enthusiastic attitude towards work and a genuine desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of our residents’ lives

- Reliable, flexible and able to work a rotating roster

- Knowledge of food safety guidelines and practices

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- A confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills

- Organised and able to work independently and within a team

- Strong attention to detail

Essential Requirements (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)





- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience as a Food Services Assistant

- Experience in a commercial kitchen setting

- Current Police Clearance

- NDIS Worker Clearance

- Current Flu and Covid vaccinations (including booster)

- Current Senior First Aid and CPR

- 100-point check

- Full working rights in Australia

- Manual handling training

- Restrictive Practice Certificate

- Food Safety certificate

- NDIS Orientation Module

- NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals

Desirable Requirements

- Previous experience working in Aged Care and/or Residential Care

- Current South Australian Driver’s Licence

- Reliable car or able to drive company van

- Comprehensive motor vehicle insurance (if using own vehicle)

- Food Safety Supervisor

If you don't currently hold all required qualifications, we are happy to support the successful applicant to complete the necessary training prior to, or shortly after, commencement where appropriate.
