This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality manager who takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences, building high-performing teams, and creating a venue guests and staff want to return to.

The Venue

Our fully refurbished luxury venue, located in one of Sydney CBD’s beautiful heritage buildings, oozes with style and sets the stage for our top-class performers and entertainers.

We offer premium drinks, refined service and an exceptional guest experience in a sophisticated, vibrant and welcoming environment.

You will lead from the front, setting the standard for service, presentation and professionalism while creating a positive and respectful workplace for our team and performers.

We are looking for someone who is confident making decisions, takes ownership, understands the commercial side of hospitality and is comfortable managing the venue autonomously.

You will work closely with the owners and management team to continually improve the venue, grow revenue, control costs and ensure Bon Bon remains one of Sydney's leading late-night hospitality experiences.

As Bon Bon's Venue Manager, your responsibilities will include:

● Taking overall responsibility for the successful day-to-day operation and performance of the venue.

● Leading, motivating, training and developing the team while maintaining a professional, safe and respectful working environment for staff and performers.

● Setting and maintaining exceptional standards of guest service, venue presentation and professionalism.

● Managing VIP relationships and creating personalised guest experiences that drive repeat business.

● Overseeing FOH operations, including recruitment, rostering, staffing levels, shift management and performance.

● Managing venue finances, including cash handling, reconciliation, reporting, labour costs, stock control, ordering and wastage.

● Overseeing nightly venue reporting and ensuring clear communication between shifts and management.

● Managing relationships with suppliers, contractors and service providers, including security, cleaning and maintenance.

● Coordinating entertainer schedules and ensuring the smooth operation of entertainment throughout the night.

● Ensuring compliance with RSA, liquor licensing, WHS and other relevant regulatory requirements.

● Managing incidents, guest concerns and operational issues calmly and effectively.

● Working with the owners to identify opportunities to grow revenue, improve profitability, enhance the guest experience and strengthen the venue's reputation.

Requirements

● Proven 2+ years' experience as a Venue Manager, General Manager or similar senior hospitality management role.

● Strong leadership and people-management skills.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

● Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of venue profitability, labour costs and stock control.

● Confident managing a team in a busy, high-energy setting.

● Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

● Calm and decisive under pressure.

● Trustworthy, reliable and accountable.

● Strong understanding of RSA and responsible venue management practices.

● Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate, preferably Advanced RSA, or willingness to complete.

● Computer literacy and competency including POS systems, Excel, Google Workspace

● Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and late-night shifts as required.

Great to have

● Previous experience managing a late-night bar, nightclub, restaurant or entertainment venue.

● Advanced RSA certificate.

● Experience with rostering, payroll, stock control and venue reporting.

● Experience managing VIP clientele and high-end hospitality.

● Strong knowledge of Sydney's hospitality industry.

● Experience working with entertainers, performers or entertainment-based venues.

Benefits

● $90k–$105k + super + tips, depending on experience and qualifications.

● Option for a 4-day working week.

● Flexible working arrangements where operationally possible.

● Genuine autonomy and ownership of the venue.

● Opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and success of Bon Bon.

● Professional growth and development opportunities.

● A dynamic, welcoming and supportive work environment.

● In-venue events, training opportunities and team-building activities.

● Tips and other staff perks.

The right person

We are looking for someone who wants more than just a management position. You will be someone who takes genuine pride in their venue, cares about their team, understands what makes guests come back and enjoys the buzz of late-night hospitality.

If you're an experienced hospitality leader ready to take ownership of a premium Sydney venue and help Bon Bon reach the next level, we'd love to hear from you.
