Team Lead/Occupational Therapist - Victoria, based at Moonee Ponds.

This is a Permanent Part-Time opportunity (22.8 hours per week) reporting directly to the Network Manager - Victoria and the role is based at Moonee Ponds, with the requirement to work across our other Victorian sites. There is opportunity for this role to increase to full time in the future, as required.

You’ll make a difference in this role by:

Focusing on growing and developing the diversity of skills in Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy across the Early Intervention and Therapy teams. You will:

- Grow and lead a team of clinical staff within your Network under the leadership of the Network Manager.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment within your team across the Network.
- Deliver evidence-based Occupational Therapy assessment (FCAs, Environmental Ax) and intervention to children and young people with hearing loss, supporting them and their families to achieve meaningful goals and maximise participation at home, school and in the community.
- Provide goal-based therapy that promotes motor development, mobility, independence and participation,



while recommending equipment and assistive technology to optimise functional outcomes eg Simple home mods; Positioning & mobility; Hygiene & transport; Access & daily living
- Deliver services across a range of settings, including NextSense centres, client homes, schools and via telepractice, while maintaining a clinical caseload and high-quality clinical documentation.
- Support team members to operate within established clinical protocols and NextSense processes, procedures and policies.
- Provide initial response and resolution to client feedback and work together to manage client waitlists and team productivity.
- Contribute to identifying strengths in service delivery and opportunities for enhancement of services.
- Partner with others to identify opportunities and challenges that arise, address concerns and resolve matters.
- Facilitate Professional Growth Planning for team members.
- Understand key financial issues relating to sustainability.
- Support the coordination of student placements and volunteers.

About You:

- Relevant tertiary qualification/s (undergraduate or postgraduate) in Occupational Therapy.
- 5+ years relevant experience Occupational Therapy clinical practice.
- Experience in hearing and/or vision services expertise.
- A strong working knowledge of and commitment to “best practice” and standards of quality.
- Demonstrated commitment to staff development and supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
- Advanced written communication skills, including high attention to detail.




- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others to take action to move toward a shared vision or goal.
- High level of ethical standards and behaviour with excellent interpersonal skills that gain respect and credibility with key stakeholders.
- You are obliged to become familiar with, and comply with child protection policies and legislation, as amended from time to time.
- Valid Working With Children Check and National Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain)
