- $76,383- $81,228 per annum pro-rata (dependent on experience) plus superannuation

About the team
Our Aquatic and Leisure team supports the health and wellbeing of the Kingston community by delivering safe, high-quality facilities and programs. The People & Training Officer plays a key role in building a capable and engaged workforce by coordinating recruitment, onboarding, training, qualifications, compliance and staff development across the service.
This role provides support across both Waves Leisure Centre and the new Mordi Aquatic Centre, during an exciting period of growth and expansion. Working closely with leaders and staff, you will help ensure our workforce is skilled, compliant and equipped to deliver exceptional experiences for our community.
About the role
This is an exciting role within our growing Aquatic & Leisure team, supporting workforce development across Waves Leisure Centre and the new Mordi Aquatic Centre.
As the People & Training Officer, you will support the Corporate Services Coordinator by coordinating recruitment, onboarding, training and development, workforce qualifications, and compliance activities across the service. The role focuses on ensuring employees are appropriately trained, accredited and supported throughout their employment lifecycle, while maintaining accurate workforce records and compliant systems.
Working closely with operational leaders, you will help attract, develop and retain a capable and engaged workforce, contributing to a positive employee experience and ensuring our teams are equipped to deliver safe, high-quality services to the Kingston community.
What you’ll deliver
- Administer recruitment, onboarding and induction activities across the Aquatic & Leisure service.
- Administer staff training, qualifications and compliance records to ensure workforce readiness.
- Monitor mandatory training, licences and accreditations, and follow up outstanding requirements.
- Liaise with Coordinators to administer learning and development programs, training schedules and related communications.
- Support workforce planning, recruitment campaigns and employee development initiatives.
- Maintain people systems, procedures and documentation in line with Council and legislative requirements.
- Prepare workforce, training and compliance reports to support operational decision-making.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in a people, training, workforce coordination, or administrative role.
- Ability to coordinate recruitment, onboarding, induction, and training activities.
- Experience maintaining employee records, training systems, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to build effective relationships with staff, managers, People & Culture teams, and external providers
- Experience supporting recruitment, training and workforce activities
- Current CPR Certificate
