Landscaping & Gardening Worker — Job DescriptionPosition Overview

The Landscaping & Gardening Worker is responsible for maintaining gardens, lawns, outdoor areas, and landscaped properties to a high standard. The role involves general gardening, landscaping, plant care, lawn maintenance, and keeping outdoor spaces clean, safe, and attractive.

Key Responsibilities
Mow, edge, and maintain lawns and grassed areas.
Prune, trim, and maintain trees, shrubs, hedges, and plants.
Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other garden plants.
Prepare soil, garden beds, and planting areas.
Weed, mulch, fertilise, and maintain garden beds.
Install and maintain basic irrigation and watering systems.
Perform general landscaping, including paving, edging, turf installation, and garden construction.
Operate and maintain gardening equipment such as mowers, whipper snippers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and other hand tools.
Remove green waste, leaves, branches, and general garden debris.
Maintain clean, tidy, and safe work areas.
Identify plant diseases, pests, and other garden maintenance issues.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
Complete other landscaping and gardening duties as required.

Skills & Requirements
Previous experience in gardening,



landscaping, or outdoor maintenance is desirable.
Valuable knowledge of plants, lawns, soil, and general garden maintenance.
Ability to safely operate gardening equipment and tools.
Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual work outdoors.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Positive attention to detail and pride in the quality of work.
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
Current driver's licence is desirable.
Relevant landscaping or horticulture qualifications are advantageous.

Working Conditions

The position involves working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and may require physical activities such as lifting, digging, bending, kneeling, mowing, pruning, and operating equipment.

Performance Expectations

The successful employee is expected to maintain a qualified standard of workmanship, care for tools and equipment, follow safety requirements, and ensure gardens and landscaped areas are maintained to a high standard.

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Willingness to travel:
25% (Preferred)
